Katy Perry has denied reports that she and R&B star Rihanna are best friends, insisting she has only “hung out” with her fellow pop star twice.Recent reports suggested that Katy has been trying to cheer Rihanna up during her recent problems with former boyfriend Chris Brown. Some tabloid spies even suggested that the girls were planning a summer getaway to Hawaii.
Not so, says Katy.
In an interview with MTV News, the “I Kissed A Girl” star admitted that the pair are friends but denied reports that she has been offering Rihanna emotional support in the wake of her domestic violence scandal.
“We’ve hung out a couple times…Of course I consider her a friend, but it’s not like ‘I’m there,’ making a big deal of it, because I feel weird about that type of stuff. You know, we’re just buddies. We’ve had dinner, and that’s about it.”
“We’re both kind of on this crazy rollercoaster, and…it’s nice to have good girlfriends,” Katy added. “I pride myself on having cool chicks in my life, and she’s a cool chick.”
